Known as the ‘Meat Company of Santa Barbara', family owned and operated Shalhoob Meat Company has been supplying premium custom cuts of beef, lamb, pork, veal and poultry to restaurants, hotels, institutions and the public since 1973.
Based on a recipe originated by the owner's great grand father, Shalhoob Meat Company began making its signature Santa Barbara Style Beef Jerky in 1977 . It was an instant hit with the Santa Barbara locals just as it had been generations before when grandpa used to make it using his secret family recipe in his home-made smoker for friends and family.
Today the family tradition continues with four delicious flavors, Peppered, Honey Glazed, Honey Glazed Teriyaki, Jalapeno, Honey Barbeque and Original. Tender slices of USDA Top Round are marinated overnight to achieve the ultimate flavor. The slices are then carefully hung and spaced by hand on stainless steel rods before going into the smokehouse.
 There they are dried and only removed when the perfect amount of moisture remains for maximum flavor and tenderness. This special process, together with Shalhoob's old family recipe makes our Jerky stand apart from all the other brands.
